Lukraak plays post-silly music of crooked beauty. Using alto saxophone, drums, flutes, found objects as well as their own centered bodies and flying limbs, they produce something of their own with a haphazard attitude. Intricate sonic mosaics and vivid tapestries of complex sound masses are created along the edges of experimental jazz and neo-neo-dada-dada.

Lukraak has previously performed at Porta-Jazz Festival and Valkhof Festival, as well as at venues in Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and France. They are individually and collectively active members of the vibrant experimental music scene of Amsterdam. They are also actively performing together with Jaap Blonk as a trio. On 26th of September 2025 their debut album ‘Zaalig’ was released on LukRecords.

Lukraak presents “Interrupted Inconsistencies”:
a live mixtape-ish concert-happening featuring 150 micropieces of 16 seconds each, performed in one continuous 45-minute set. The duo delivers an absurd stream of sounds, improvisation, and performance (from rattling and squeaking recorder flutes to silent stillness and “free energy music”), with contributions from friends, fellow artists, family members, and strangers. The project is a love letter to communal creativity and the local music scene, where the ordinary and the poetic are allowed to coexist.
